Betty Neels Pineapple Girl (1977)
She didn't know if she were coming or going, all she was sure of was that her companion knew, and that because she loved him and trusted him she was quite content to leave her immediate future in a muddle in order to please him.
A simple formula embroidered with enough details to provide a satisfactory read with a touch of exotica: nursing, Holland, tropical fruit, a boys' school, a sensational rescue. Obviously there is no question that the well-rounded (in so many ways) Nurse will capture the handsome Doctor. And it all began with a pineapple. Quite badly dated in terms of travel. Still quite accurate on the dreadful and expensive pineapples to be found in the UK.
How could he talk about kippers when only a moment ago he had been kissing her as though he really enjoyed it?
Rating: 5/10. I wasn't expecting much. I just like references to pineapples.
If you liked this... nurses? romances? exotic locations? handsome doctors? no sex? Cherry Ames.
