The problem with all these free 'old' books is that a frenzy of downloading results in a TBR of monster proportions, and I am so glad I finally read this one, as it certainly deserves to be shown the light of day again. skiourophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200877834536477400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488371842288429064.post-57851987609391902812013-12-10T17:36:09.084+10:302013-12-10T17:36:09.084+10:30Fascinating. Herland also has some amazing moments when the male narrator becomes aware of the hypocrisy of his purported superiority over womenkind, although it is rather more didactic about it than Yellow.skiourophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200877834536477400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488371842288429064.post-48377431913426708772013-12-04T22:06:07.987+10:302013-12-04T22:06:07.987+10:30I scurried off to do some more reading about it (i...I scurried off to do some more reading about it (i.e. Wikipedia...) and it was originally published in serial form (and as part of a trilogy) and didn't make it as a book until 1979. I suspect otherwise it would be better known. That cover is sort of ickily appropriate - penetration into the women's land and all that stuff. skiourophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200877834536477400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488371842288429064.post-52582964578342741022013-12-04T06:20:12.456+10:302013-12-04T06:20:12.456+10:30Fabulous review Vicki.
