{paris in july} lunch at angelina

This is a post for
Paris in July
hosted by bookbath and thyme for tea

I'm heading back to Paris today from the UK!

Perhaps I'll revisit Angelina on the Rue de Rivoli
and eat some more of these:

"Club sandwich Angelina, servis avec chips, mesclun de saison"

"Millefeuille à la vanille Bourbon
(fine pâte feuilletée caramélisée,
crème légère à la vanille Bourbon)"

I still have to have a hot chocolate there this visit.
This was two years ago's deliciousness:
Yes, I did start devouring the Mont Blanc
before remembering to photograph it.

  1. Thanks Anbolyn & Jo - I went back to Angelina today and had the hot chocolate and Mont Blanc combination again. Simply divine!

  3. And then I went to the branch in Printemps department store and had another millefeuille. There is no end to my greed!

  4. This was one spot that was recommended to me and there just wasn't time to go! Oh, how very sad! I'm doing Paris in July at The Marmelade Gypsy, too -- stop by if you feel so inclined!

    1. Thanks Jeanie! You must definitely keep Angelina on your list for next time - delicious! I managed to bring home a tin of the hot chocolate mix which I'm going to ration out very strictly with myself (and no one else). I'm off to check out your blog now!

  5. How wonderful to be in Paris. How fabulous it all looks. There is a reason that their hot chocolate is world famous, and the Mont Blanc's were delicious too-excellent combo. We visited Angelina's twice in 2010 to sit down, and perhaps more for takeaway deliciousness. The second visit was for breakfast on the only cool day of our trip- the hot chocolate was Astonishing that day. I also sated (forever) my curiosity for citron presse!

    1. Thanks Louise - the citron presse does remind me a bit of the shock of tasting one of those incredibly sour 'hi-sour' lollies! Mouth-puckering!

  6. Had lunch w/ my friend who worked 4 years at the American Embassy in Paris. Told her how I enjoy the "Paris in July" blogs. She asked "Doesn't it make it sadder not to be in Paris when you see these blogs with pictures?" I said "Yes, but it's well worth it." Thank you for a beautiful blog.
